Did Your Senators Vote to Support GMO Labeling

The Senate passed the 2012 Farm Bill, by a vote of 64 to 35. Overall, this version of the Farm Bill amounts to a missed opportunity to tackle the root problem in our food system: consolidation and corporate control.

Unfortunately, the amendment to allow states to require labeling of genetically engineered foods did not pass and had 26 Senators voting in favor and 73 voting against it. Obviously, there’s much more work to be done to ensure our right to know what we’re eating.

Regardless of the Senate’s action, however, states can still pass their own legislation to require labeling for GE foods, and we are working to support multiple such efforts around the country.

Please send a message to your Senators below and, depending on how they voted, either thank them or encourage them to support GMO labeling in the future.
